Materials Needed:

  • Yarn: white and 3 shades of blue or any color palette of your choice (e.g., C1, C2, C3, C4)

  • Hook: 3.5 mm

  • Scissors


Pattern Instructions:


Start:

Begin with a magic ring or chain 4 and slip stitch (slst) into the first chain to form a loop.

Round 1 (R1):

  • With C1:

    • 3 double crochets (dc), chain 2 (ch 2)

    • Repeat 4 times

    • Slip stitch into the first dc using C2, then ch 1.

You shoul have for corners and four sets of 3dc's.


Round 2 (R2):

  • With C2:

    • Dc into the last ch2 of R1, ch 1.

      • You're going backwards for the first dc

    • 3dc into the next ch2 space, ch 2, 3dc into the same space, ch 1.

    • Repeat in all corners, finishing with 2dc into the last corner.

    • Slst with C3, ch 1.


Round 3 (R3):

  • With C3:

    • 3dc into ch1 space, ch 1.

    • 3dc into ch2 space, ch 2, 2dc into the same space, ch 1.

    • Continue this pattern for each corner and side.

    • Finish with slst into the first dc using C4.


Round 4 (R4):

  • With C4:

    • Dc into the last ch2 of R1, ch 1.

    • 3dc into the next ch1 space, ch 1.

    • Repeat the sequence:

      • 3dc into ch2 space, ch 2, 2dc into the same space, ch 1.

      • 3dc into each ch1 space.

    • Finish with slst into the first dc using C1, ch 1.


Round 5 (R5):

  • With C1:

    • Single crochet (sc) into each stitch until you have 9 sc.

    • In the ch2 space: 2sc, ch2, 2sc.

    • Continue sc along the side (15 sc total per side).

    • Repeat for all sides. Finish with slst into the first sc using C2.


Round 6 (R6):

  • With C2:

    • Sc into each stitch until you have 11 sc.

    • In the ch2 space: 1sc, ch2, 1sc.

    • Continue sc along the side (19 sc total per side).

    • Repeat for all sides. Finish with slst into the first sc using C3.


Rounds 7–10:

Repeat Round 6, increasing the sc count on each side by 1 per round (e.g., 12, 13, 14, etc.).

For the ch2 spaces: 1sc, ch2, 1sc.Finish the final round with slst into the first sc and fasten off.
